United Way promoted literacy through it's annual Day of Caring Friday.
Sixty volunteers from the Loaned Executive Program took part, reading to children and handing out free books.
The team is key to fundraising efforts during the fall campaign.
"It's so important to get some hands-on experience and see the people who will be directly affected by the funds," said volunteer Chelsea Salazar. "So we were just so excited to get in here with the kiddos, promote healthy eating, promote early literacy and just have a fun morning with the kiddos."
The loaned executives are volunteers with other jobs, loaned by their employers to work with United Way on a part-time basis.
