NEW YORK - Texas Tech offensive lineman Jared Kaster (Altair, Texas/Altair Rice H.S.) was named to the preseason watch list for the prestigious Rimington Award, which honors the nation's top center.
Since 2000, the Rimington Award has been presented to the nation's top center. Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only double winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman.
Kaster enters his senior season at Texas Tech after having started 25 consecutive games at center. In 2014, Texas Tech rushed for 1,836 yards, its most rushing yards since the 1998 season. In addition, the offensive line allowed just 13 sacks.

Kaster and Texas Tech open the 2015 season on Saturday, Sept. 5 by hosting Sam Houston State at Jones AT&T Stadium. Season tickets are still on sale and can be purchased by calling 806-742-TECH or by visiting www.texastech.com.
