Lubbock man rescued after park flood

Lubbock Fire Rescue had to pull out a rescue boat just a couple of hours ago to reach a man stranded in his truck in high water at Mackenzie Park.

After checking out how deep the water was and trying to reach him with a fire crane, there were able to get the victim into a raft and out of the water.

"If it looks like you can't cross it, if it's moving at a considerable pace, don't even try it," Phillip Grandon with Lubbock Fire Rescue said. "Best thing is to always turn around. The long route is the safe route, always."
