Two women arrested after shoplifting incident, pursuit

LPD officers arrested two women after an early morning chase in south Lubbock.

Deni Moore, 33, and Tamara Gould, 31, have been booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center.

Police responded to a shoplifting call at the Walmart at the South Loop 289 and Quaker Avenue at 2:20 a.m. on Monday.

The suspects drove away on Indiana Avenue with their lights turned off at one point, and later ran a red light. Police say Moore lost control of the vehicle while trying to turn onto 86th Street and crashed into a fence.

The two suspects were arrested after a brief foot chase. Moore and Gould have been charged with theft, evading arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Moore was also charged with resisting arrest and failure to identify.
