Two persons of interest in a Hobbs murder investigation were arrested on unrelated charges in Gaines county.
Seminole Police report Maribel Mendoza, 30, and Christopher Cardenas, 32, were taken into custody after briefly barricading themselves in a hotel room.
Both were held on felony warrants out of New Mexico. Police said further charges against Mendoza and Cardenas are pending related to a gun, drugs, and stolen property officers found in the hotel room.
On June 28, Hobbs Police identified the pair as persons of interest in the shooting death of Julio Gonzalez, 37, in Hobbs.
