THIS MORNING: We have a lot of clouds moving in from the north. There have been showers and storms across Northeast New Mexico and the Texas Panhandle. These have been falling apart as they move south of I-40. We can’t rule out some sprinkles this morning north of the city, but not much is expected.
TODAY: We’ll continue with a mix of sun and clouds, high near 91, wind S-SE 10-18mph. Here is the area forecast:
As a front moves into the Panhandle some storms should develop this afternoon. It looks like the better chance for storms across our area will be this evening into tonight, storms moving in from the north. Some of these storms may produce strong wind and some hail, along with brief heavy rain.
NEXT FEW DAYS: There is a slight chance for storms tomorrow afternoon, high in the upper 80s. There may even be a few lingering showers into early Saturday. An isolated storm is possible in the afternoon on the Fourth, but the chance is pretty slim.
High temp will again be in the upper 80s Saturday before warming up next week. We are seeing some signs of storms Monday night into Tuesday morning in the guidance. This is a newer trend, doesn’t look too promising for rain at this point.
Have a great day. Rudy will update the forecast this afternoon. Christopher will be in tomorrow. Enjoy the Fourth of July.
