THIS MORNING: It's clear across the South Plains and most of the region. The temperature starts in the 60s and low 70s here. There are some low clouds moving north over the Permian Basin and Concho Valley. These clouds might get into part of our area next few hours before they thin out.
TODAY: It'll be a little warmer than yesterday. We expected the 90s yesterday but the morning clouds kept the temperature down. High near 93 in Lubbock, mostly sunny, wind SW-S 10-18mph.
NEXT FEW DAYS: A weak boundary/front will move into the Panhandle tomorrow afternoon, helping to develop a few storms. By tomorrow evening there is a chance for a few storms here. We'll also see more clouds through tomorrow than today.
Friday also has a slight chance for a few storms, high in the upper 80s.
On the Fourth of July there might be a lingering shower in the area early in the morning...then possibility for an isolated shower or storm during the afternoon, high near 89. It'll be warm and humid, but not too bad by Fourth of July standards here.
NEXT WEEK: High pressure aloft over the western United States will expand eastward, closer to our area. This means it'll get a little warmer with lots of sun.
Have a great day. Rudy will update this forecast later today.
