The South Plains Food Bank received a generous donation from another non-profit the M5M Foundation more than 230,000 servings of phytoblend powder. This is the first shipment in the U.S. It should help feed about 2,500 kids this summer. Phytoblend the nutritional supplement has no artificial flavoring and contains nutrients from natural plant sources.
"The powder just goes inside of their food. It's a real food technology supplement. So it is one that is based on actual food product, and it is able to easily to absorb in their systems, and provide nutrients they are not getting in the food," Executive Director of M5M Foundation Sarah Bowen said.
The M5M Foundation combats childhood malnutrition with naturally-sourced supplements.
